Shelburne Feral Cat Rescue’s Relocation Plans Are Looking Up!
Owner Of Shelburne’s Non-Profit Feral Cat Rescue, Sharon Morden, faced a dilemma any animal rescue would dread. Following a complaint to the Town of Shelburne from a neighbour, Shelburne Town Council then addressed the complaint and discovered the Morden’s operation was running in direct violation to a bylaw that prevents business in a neighbourhood. Given a notice to relocate, Morden was scrambling for options and the Town Of Shelburne helped. While the Town recognized Morden’s conundrum, and appreciated the fact that Morden provides invaluable service to the Town of Shelburne and outlying area, Morden appeared before Council over the summer and presented fact finding information. Morden will again appear before Council in September to update the Town on her progress to find a new location and likely request a delay on her notice to relocate the rescue.
In the hopes of purchasing a portable from the Town Of Barrie and place it on land that had been offered to Morden, a GoFundMe page has been created to help with costs of relocating and purchasing of the portable. If you would like to support Morden, click on the GoFundMe Link below.
