Representatives from the local area School’s Breakfast programs attended Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre’s 28th Annual Tent Sale held on the weekend of September 1st-3rd, and in addition to taking advantage of fantastic deals, Shelburnites and shoppers from around the area also contributed to the Breakfast programs purchasing a hot dog or just simply donating resulting in over $1300 being raised. The money raised is a jump start on Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre’s annual DONATE A PLATE INCENTIVE where for a small donation, donators put their name on a plate prominently featured in Shelburne Home Hardware. Store owner Bill Gillam usually pledges to double to amount raised under $5000 and each year, Gillam’s not been disappointed exceeding their goal. No stranger to generosity of philanthropic gestures, Gillam’s Donate A Plate fundraising incentive can proudly boast raising several thousands of dollars over the years that remain 100% in the local area of Shelburne providing for Shelburne’s five schools. Clearly, Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre is not just any store, it’s a meeting place, a community hub, and is making a huge, positive impact on the future of our children.
