Shelburne Intersection At Highway 10-89 & 124 Gets Lighting upgrade, But No Advanced Green Lighting Systems Installed! According to Sergeant Paul Neumann of the Shelburne Police Services, the current lighting system was being upgraded and that’s it. With no indication of an advanced green lighting system planned in Shelburne’s future, The Shelburne Freelancer is awaiting a response from Ministry of Transportation( MTO) Steven Del Duca. As soon as a response arrives, The Shelburne Freelancer will publish.

As this intersection become increasingly congested, MTO’s handsitting on this very important issue has been a point of urgency from Shelburne’s Town Council. recently Deputy Mayor Geoff Dunlopp and Councilor Walter Benotto attended a conference where they offered the Town of Shelburne would bare the brunt of the cost of installing the lights and still they were denied citing MTO must conclude their own studies before they act and this handsitting could cost lives. Already the location of more than a few accidents, the pressing situation needs to be made perfectly clear to Shelburnites. Here is the email to the Minister of Transportation and Shelburnites have to know that Town Council’s hands are tied as no actions can be taken until MTO makes the decision. If you would like to express yourself, contact MTO.  minister.mto@ontario.ca
