We hope everyone had a great long weekend – we’re thankful for the support of our wonderful community:
The Horning’s Mills Community Hall is testament to the support of the vibrant community we have here. Being volunteer run and operated, every building upgrade made and every public event that’s put on is a reminder of the amazing neighbours that come together to make this area so special. Every once in a while, there are people who do something extra special to preserve and improve this centre of community for all of us.
The Hall Board would like to gratefully acknowledge the many generous donations to your Horning’s Mills Community Hall that were made by the guests of Dave and Judy Laver’s wedding this summer. The bride and groom decided they already had everything they needed to enjoy their life together, and so asked their guests to donate to the Hall in lieu of wedding gifts! How cool is that?! Well, Mr. and Mrs. Laver, your thoughtful generosity has resulted in a wonderful addition of over $3,000 to the annual volunteer fundraising that keeps the Hall doors open. On behalf of the fine citizens of Melancthon and all who enjoy our Community Hall, THANK YOU!
Here’s a lovely picture of Dave and Judy on their wedding day at home in Horning’s Mills, featuring a 1922 Ner-a-Car Motorcycle and gorgeous vintage 1920’s dress. Congratulations to the happy couple!
