Weekly Update from Shelburne Royal Canadian Legion Branch 220 President Lesa Peat & Christmas News

“With Christmas right around the corner the branch is busy with many activities.  Monday night Bingo is the place to be.  Doors open at 6:15pm and play begins at 7:00pm with a $1,000.00 jackpot, the canteen is open with hot dogs, French fries and sandwiches available.  Wednesday evening Darts is another way to enjoy an evening out.  Spares are asked to arrive by 7:30pm and sign up, the Canteen is also available with a different menu each week from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.  Thursday night is sports night with Euchre, Pool, Darts and Crokinole available.  Euchre starts at 7:00pm.  This Friday is another Red Friday Wing Night with entertainment by The Sean Bourke Band.  Please bring in an unwrapped Toy or a donation to the Food Bank on any of these nights.  Please support the Town of Shelburne and watch the Santa Claus Parade on Saturday December 2nd.  Come join Santa and Mrs. Claus on Sunday December 10th for our Christmas Craft Sale/Breakfast from 9am – 12pm.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 10am for photos.  Friday December 15th Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at our Red Friday Wing Night to dance with the kids and enjoy some wings until 9pm.  Introducing for the first time at the branch, Eastern Storm (Newfoundland Band) they perform from 9pm – 12:30am.  Saturday December 16th is the Scavenger Hunt registration sheets will be up Sunday Dec. 3rd.  Sunday December 17th is our Christmas Meat Spin beginning at 2pm.  Friday December 29th will be the last Red Friday Wing Night of 2017 with Wasted Measures as entertainment.  Last call on November 30th for your Early Bird dues, don’t delay and save $10.  A common question asked is, “Do we need to be a member for our child to do their community service ours at the Legion”.  That answer is NO, all students are welcome to do their hours at the branch.  If you know a student that needs their hours please ask them to contact the branch at 519 925 3800,” Royal Canadian Legion President Lesa Peat.
