Shelburne’s Multicultural Day 2018, A Huge Success!

Brain Child of Shelburnite, Althea Casamento, local entrepreneur, owner of ACCE Photography and active community member, Shelburne’s First Annual Multicultural Day Event 2018 drew crowds of people to the Shelburne Public Library where they could meet and great each other, get an understanding of each other’s backgrounds and become familiar with each other through merely being introduced to each other. A fantastic opportunity for those who attended who also were able to enjoy a wide array of multicultural tasty treats, try to win something wonderful, witness community members being presented with awards, meet our MPP Sylvia Jones,  Shelburne Mayor Ken Bennington, Deputy Mayor Geoff Dunlop, Shelburne Councillor, Steve Anderson and event supporter, CEO and Head Librarian, Rose Dotten and Jade Noble, young Adult and Technical Services at Shelburne Public Library, Shelburne & District Fire Department Fire Fighter, Randy Narine, a sponsor of the event, Steve Bowles of Auto Centre Dufferin .  The event was held at the Shelburne Public Library, a community hub location. Many people passed through the doors to enjoy the event and all were welcomed to enjoy the featured artwork created by local schools, place a star on a map indicating their place of origin, and just mingle while enjoying entertainment. What an amazing concept for people from around the world as indicated by the map that will hang at Shelburne Town Hall, to meet in this wonderful Town of Shelburne.
