Multiple Cars Entered Saturday Night In Shelburne

The Shelburne Police Service was kept busy on Sunday May 6, 2018 after several citizens reported thefts from their vehicles.  The investigation has revealed that in the overnight hours many unlocked vehicles were entered and ransacked while thieves looked for money and other items of value. As well, an attempt to steal a vehicle was made.

Shelburne police have obtained excellent video footage of the thieves, however, still urge Shelburne citizens to check their home security video or dash cam video and report to the Shelburne Police Service any suspicious activity that may have been captured in the overnight hours of May 5th into May 6th.

“Thefts from vehicles in our community are crimes of opportunity. Don’t give them an opportunity to make you a victim! Take every precaution in order to make sure that this does not happen to you.” commented Shelburne Police Chief Kent Moore.  Residents are reminded to “Lock It or Lose It”.  Simply locking your car and placing valuables out of sight can be enough to deter would be thieves.  Anyone with any information about this or any other matter are urged to report it to the Shelburne Police Service at (519) 925-3312 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1 800-222-TIPS.
