Glenbrook Elementary Students, Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre And Tree Canada Commemorate National Tree Day

Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre along with Tree Canada began a tree planting initiative in 2013 for the Students at Glenbrook Elementary. The idea was that a tree for every grade would be planted and as each group of students moved up the grade ladder, that grade would be responsible for the each of the eight trees maintaining and caring for them forever. A very exciting prospect for the students who will pass their elementary education knowing they helped trees grow and took part in something very special that with care of the trees will be a thing of beauty for generations to come.

Owner of Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre, Bill Gillam actually took this project very personally helping to plant the trees himself in a very hands on manner.

During the official Ceremony, Gillam and his team attended to help students finish off the planting process along side Celia Johnstone of Tree Canada and special guest, Town Councillor, Walter Benotto, who was present in 2013 had the pleasure of seeing the completion of the project of eight trees planted. Shelburne Home Hardware Building Centre expressed their gratitude at being able to work with Tree Canada during this special project.
